Becoming Elite

What It Takes to Transform Your Life Using 4 Proven Pillars of Performance

"I enjoyed Erik's easy storytelling style while sharing his experiences with what didn't work and how he implemented what does. My favorite thing are the self-inventory tools for morning, mid-day and evening, to keep me on track with my progress."

Who It’s For:

Theresa Kohler
Sometimes books written my elite athletes are unrelatable. Some books are so lofty that few could dream of performing at an elite level. This book is not like that. Even though the author has competed at the highest levels, the approach of this book is such that anyone can relate. Anyone can put this book into practice. In addition to recommending this book, I recommend visiting the author’s website. The companion workbook is excellent.

The author lays out some simple guidelines he's used in his life that brought him to the pinnacle of performance. While most of us probably will never achieve a career in the NHL, everything he talks about is relatable. We can become elite in what WE do, and this is an excellent reminder of that.

This book guides us through transforming our lives to be a better person every day. The author utilizes and shares a method of taking times out of every day to record and think about the happenings of each day. This gives us a guide to keep us on the path we choose.

I appreciated the simple steps Eric has taught in this book to do the soul searching that we all need to have a more satisfying life. I may not become elite, but I can become a better me that satisfies that need to have my purpose fulfilled. Thank you, Eric for your candor and modeling to be our best selves and learn the wonderful mindset of what elite really means.

The author sets up a clear path for the reader to reach and attain becoming Elite. I enjoyed how he illustrated his own journey and the obstacles he faced along the way. The Four Pillars will guide the reader to make the shift- using them daily to examine the progress one has made and make the pivot if needed. He reiterates how it takes discipline and accountability while giving yourself grace and forgiveness. This book is exceptional and one that should be read by anyone who desires not only to improve themselves but to become Elite!

I enjoyed this book. Erik lays out the “four pillars” and gives personal examples from his experience in the NHL and in family and personal life in table format, making it easy for the reader to follow and copy. There aren’t any astonishing concepts in this book, but it does bring the puzzle pieces together in terms of looking at the full scope of your life, and checking in daily on your progress towards your highest ideal(s). The example of the lion and the gazelle is memorable and impactful.
